MTA show Vietnam 2010
Ho Chi Minh Vietnam stand AK 4-5
from 6 to 9 July 2010

Since 2008, Vietnam has continued to cement its reputation as a leader amongst the most dynamic economies on the Asian continent thanks to the increase in industrial production and manufacturing. This has led to a change in how the country's economy is structured: agriculture's contribution to the GDP has dropped to 20%, while industry and services have increased to 35% and 45% respectively. Italian sales of machine tools in Vietnam have continued to show steady growth (up 13%) in 2009, amounting to the equivalent of 6.8 million euros. This good performance has promoted the country to second place amongst the region's target markets (after Thailand). The main target sectors for machine tool manufacturers include ship and boat building, structural metalwork, the petrochemical industry and light mechanical engineering.
